This is what pubs used to be. Good bar downstairs, quiet but basic accommodation with a shared toilet and shower facility. Has not been redecorated since 1956 but that is the charm of this place. The linen was clean and the rooms are tidy and well kept. There is a guest lounge with a TV although the room had none but who cares. This room had a basin and provided towels. Meals are relatively expensive but very good, a cut above the average pub fare. Local patrons are not as quirky as smaller towns but the beer is cold and the service is quick. Nothing wrong with a detour back in time and I hope the ownefs keep it this way.

Meals are fantastic with fresh veges. Staff are wonderful and people in general are very friendly. Fully recommend this place for locals visitors and travellers.
