  Lovely place to stay, the staff were very efficient, welcoming and helpful. The downfall was the $250 security deposit that had to be paid along with the room fee and the fact that it will be sometime before it comes back to me. The room was beautiful and probably the cleanest I have ever stayed in. I would definitely recommend The Grand Hotel for your stay if you don't mind paying the security deposit.

  I enjoyed my stay and the location is perfect. It is in the heart of the city, right at the door of all the top restaurants of Townsville and a 5 minute walk to the night club strip, mall and art show. There were minor issues with lighting in the room being a little dull and off coloured; but I would have to say "I am stretching to find an issue with the place". It was a quiet area and the rooms are very secure.

  Very friendly staff (including receptionist and cleaning crew), safe parking, modern & hygienic rooms. I do wish the TV's were a bit bigger, but great otherwise.

  We were greeted with extremely friendly service. The hotel was extremely clean and the amenities were quite nice. Not to mention being situated right on Palmer Street meant we were always just a stone throw from great meals and a short walk to the best coffee in town
